When you get a compliment from Mr Perfectionist himself, what else do you need as a validation that your movie is good? Aamir Khan, fresh off the mega success of Dangal, took time to show his appreciation for Kunal Kapoor’s bilingual period piece, Veeram on Twitter. As you must be aware, Kunal Kapoor is the leading star in the movie, that is based on Shakespeare’s Macbeth, about a warrior who is emotionally compromised by the words of his loved one to betray his master. Veeram merges this Shakespearean work with the ballad of Chanthu Chekavar, that is quite popular in Kerala. The movie is directed by National award winning Jayaraj.
The trailer of Veeram has received quite a lot of appreciation for its visual aesthetics, productions design, sound editing, the kalaripayattu scenes and of course, Kunal Kapoor’s look in the movie. Now with Aamir Khan himself in awe of the trailer, we must say the makers are going in the right way getting the right kind of attention for the movie. Here’s Aamir Khan‘s tweet for his Kunnu (Kunaal Kapoor), with whom he had acted in Rang De Basanti more than a decade ago.
Veeram, produced by Chandramohan D. Pillai and Pradeep Rajan and distributed by Lal Jose under his banner LJ Films, also has Himarsha Venkatsamy as Unniyarcha and Divina Thakur. Veeram, is the fifth movie made under Jayaraj’s Navarasa theme of movies, others being Karunam, Shaantam, Bheebatsam, and Adbhutam. The movie is scheduled to release on 24 February 2017 in both Hindi and Malayalam.
Aamir Khan is currently prepping for his high budget Thugs of Hindostan, after which he will star in the biopic of Rakesh Sharma. But he will be see first in a cameo in his own home production, Secret Superstar.
