Amid proposal to float a political party under the aegis of TJAC, a majority of members of the organisation are believed to be suggesting chairman M Kodandaram to ensure that the outfit would join hands with Congress and Left parties to defeat TRS in the next Assembly elections. It is learnt that Kodandaram has expedited the process of holding discussions with the TJAC members on the possibility of launching a political outfit.
Even though there is a buzz in TJAC that the new political outfit might take birth in January, according to sources, there are conflicting views among the organisation’s members on the issue of floating a political outfit. According to sources, some members are advising Kodandaram against launching a political outfit without strengthening TJAC at grass roots level, while some others are exerting pressure on him to go ahead with his plan to float a political party.
“Even if a political party is floated, it should join hands with the principal Opposition party, Congress, and Left parties. Only then can we ensure that the anti-establishment vote is not split and an edge is not given to the TRS,” another TJAC member remarked.
