The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Wednesday said it would spend about Rs 75 crore to repair the crumbling roads in the city.
The Times of India reported:
As part of its plans, GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy said there was work on 486 patches, criss-crossing 180 km of the city, which needed to be taken up on priority…The engineering wing of the civic body will in fact be given a training session on executing quality work.
“We will take the assistance of experts in IIT-Hyderabad, JNTU and Osmania University to ensure high quality work. Even the engineering wing of the civic body will be very alert on quality issues related to civic works…Anyone caught taking a bribe from a contractor will be dealt with very strictly,” Reddy was quoted as saying.
