Rail Budget up by 5% for T and 8% for A

The Railway Budget allocation for Telangana during 2018-19 has gone up by 5 per cent at 1,813 crore as against 1,729 crore last year.

For Andhra Pradesh, it increased 8 per cent at 3,670 crore (3,406 crore), Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway (SCR), told newspersons at a press conference here on Tuesday.

“For infrastructure, SCR has been sanctioned 5,752 crore for 2018-19 which is much higher than 5,669 crore sanctioned last year,” Yadav said.

For the newlines, the budgetary grant is 1,757 crore. Allocation for passenger amenities went up by 77 per cent to 120 crore.
