Read Time: 1 minutes

The Indian rupee weakened to a new low against the dollar, driven by concerns that rising oil prices will undermine the country’s strong economic fundamentals.

The Indian currency broke through 69 to the dollar for the first time on Thursday to touch an intraday record low of 69.09 during morning trading. The previous record, 68.90, was set in 2016.
