The State government is keen on starting metro rail work on the 30.7 km stretch between Biodiversity Park at Gachibowli and the International Airport at Shamshabad, but the alignment is yet to be finalised. While the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has prepared a preliminary report, top officials are mulling over the precise alignment routes.
“We are considering multiple options on the airport metro corridor line. Either way, it will get onto the Outer Ring Road (ORR) for linking to the airport. Number of halts/ stations and even speeds will be determined by the final alignment chosen with the cost factor also taken into consideration,” explained senior metro rail officials.
